Previous Entry Advise - D60vsD80 Jun. 11th, 2008 @ 12:38 pm Next Entry
Ok, so I'm about to buy a camera and really need advise choosing between the Nikon D60 vs D80. The main difference from what I can tell is the AF points. The D60 only has 3 vs the D80 having 11. To me, the difference seems huge, but I'm a novice photographer and I can get a really good deal on the D60 with a better lense. Can someone please confirm the AF points being as big a difference as I think it is?

Thank you...you rock!

Over a year after the fact, and you're the only one to respond. How awesome is that?
I went with the D80. What I should have been asking about were lenses, but I think it was an education that I had to learn on my own.

Thank you for these awesome links! Bookmarked both, right where they need to be. The Red Bubble one looks amazing!

Very cool:) Unfortunately I went with the canon I wish I got the Nikon, sorry I have this bad habit of not looking at dates or the icons, so I looked at yours after our conversation previously and first noticed the finger, than that you look like my cousin:) how funny is that.
You will love the bubble:) enjoy!

The finger. Yes, well, for my initial post I changed my icon to something less offensive but hadn't realized (or simply forgot)that I would have to keep changing it as I responded to people. Then when I noticed, I was just....baaahh, fuck it.

The Canon Rebel XT? I think that was the D80's only competitor, really. Why aren't you pleased with it, I wonder?

Metta,
Your Cousin

no worries the finger is funny, you are a good hearted guy
but whant to appear tough:)? at least that's how my cousin is.
Got the Canon40D
It's ok. I think that the Nikons are better/tougher made, more solid;
I think that Cannon is way over rated. Canons I think are
better point and shoots? Should have gotten the Nikon and the Cannon G9.
The colours of the Cannon photos althought bright and beautiful
are not realistic, ya know? Oh you have got to check this out
you will be floored, I was:)

Baddass me: "tough" is relative, right? Certainly I've never owned a gun or robbed a liquor store, but beyond that, what you saw was what you got. It really depends on what you think we're supposed to be doing here in this life, and how you should be interracting with people, or what they mean in relation to you and your life. For a good long while, I thought those interractions were supposed to be aggressive and violent. Balanced, of course, but I wouldn't describe myself as good hearted. I mean, I just didn't think I was supposed to be, you know? What changed was just an interest in learning how to cope with death. I knew I'd have to eventually. And I got married, so...there was suddenly someone I couldn't imagine coping with losing. When you open yourself to Buddhism (or does buddhism open itself to you?), the Buddha brings with him all of these reasons that can be held to a scientific standard, for wanting to be good to each other. And that's where I'm at. Truly, a devil in meditation and in love with each new person I meet.
That said, this is in no way a new LJ account. I'm constantly growing, evolving and learning, and yet I don't update any of my profile info or pictures.

The link: LMAO what's with you and these fantastic links? You're wonderful! lol

Totally relative but relative to what? To everything. So than to nothing, hmmm:)
Am reading Hardcore Zen it is so good so am a bit out there right now.
By good hearted I meant compassionate, I get the vibe that you are
very nice and it has been a pleasure to chat.
I highly reccommend this book, it's really amazing.
About the links, I like to do the relative thing:) squares, triangles, circles;
According to this book, I am talking to a part of myself,
that is you, and vise versa, must be amazing:)
Plus it confirms that we are all to an extent anti social,
no need to be neurotic about it, thank you for making me feel
wonderful, that's the other book: 'there is nothing wrong with you'.

:)cheers

You know, I'm going to post it here because I'm not sure how healthy buddy's sense of humor is, and I know you get your comments in e-mail:

After ocha_no_hanashi said,
"Brad Warner teaches adharma, or false dharma. He and his teacher are proponents of ucchedavada, which propose that a mind ceases to exist completely upon demise of the flesh. This is completely cotrary to Buddhism."

your correct response should have been,
"I am the opposite I want the square to be a circle
and then a triangle:) back to square one:)
Namaste (bows)"
