Hi. I have a Pentax MZ-M manual SLR camera. It's been a long time since I've regularly used a manual camera, so I'm passingly familiar with it's controls but not great.

I would like some advice on how to take sports photos; specifically hockey, in an indoor arena, with reasonably bright lighting and no flash (700 or 400 film). I do alright in terms of having well-lit shots, and if the players are relatively stationary, but they come out very blurry otherwise. Help? Advice? General technique?

if it's an SLR you should be able to adjust your shutter speed.

Next to the ASA dial there should be numbers such as 1/4x 1/2x (up to 4x or higher).

For action shots you'll want the smaller numbers, try anything from 1x down.

good luck.
